How to Douche Your Bum (A Quick Guide)
Douching 101
Ok so you’ve been thinking about anal sex, but you’re really worried about making a mess? Well, I’m here to tell you that sex is allowed to be messy but we can do some prep to limit the mess we make, so we are going to talk about how to douche!
What is Douching
Douching is a process where we clean the inside of the passage leading up from the anus, it’s generally done to avoid unpleasant excretions and smells during anal sex. Douching isn’t a MUST DO in all cases however it is generally accepted and polite and can increase the pleasure for both parties.
How to Douche
- Ok so first you’ll need to purchase a simple douche (as pictured below), make sure the douche you choose has holes in the side of the nozzle tip as well as in the end. The reason for this is we are trying to clean the walls of the anus not just put water in our butts.
- Always only use water to fill your douche, NEVER use soap, salt, or fragrances in your douching water! All you need is warm water.
- Some people prefer to douche in the shower, others over a toilet, either is fine just consider the clean-up process once you’re done and access to warm running water as we may need to repeat the process a couple of times.
- Fill the bulb of the douche with warm water and screw the shaft onto the bulb, at this point we recommend lubricating the tip and your anus as this can make the process much more comfortable.
- Place the douche’s shaft inside the anus as deep as feels comfortable and slowly squeeze while drawing the shaft back out of the anus. Try not to release the bulb until the douche has been completely removed to avoid particles from entering the douche bulb.
- Evacuate the water along with any particles and repeat until desired cleanliness has been achieved.
Pro Tip: always a good idea to use silicone douches, so that you can boil it after use to give them a really good clean!
When To Douche
Best to douche at least 1 hour to 30 mins before you plan to have anal sex. However anytime after your last bowel movement is fine.
We recommend not douching too often, and this can may cause infection or discomfort. Remember that your body is filled with beneficial bacteria to help it function and you don’t want to disrupt the natural process.
What not to Douche
NEVER DOUCHE YOUR VAGINA, the vagina is self-cleaning and does not need douching, only ever douche your vagina if your doctor has prescribed it!
When douching, only use water, and use warm water, not hot. Never use soap, bleach, salt, detergent, fragrances, or yoghurt, or any other outlandish “douching recipe” you find on the internet! The anus is a very sensitive area with heaps and heaps of nerve endings, covered by relatively thin skin. This make anal sex very pleasurable but can also lead to some pain and discomfort if you’re not careful.
