“Where do babies come from?”
“What does WAP mean?”
“What’s porn?”
Ever had those moments where you’re peacefully minding your own business, and the little human you are raising decides to ask these questions? Or a variation?
You’re not alone. We are constantly exposed to human sexuality from the minute we are born, whether through our own curiosity (a toddler examining their genitals), media (Have you heard some of the songs on the radio? Not judging I LOVE them, but they’re still playing for all to hear) and in society at large.
The trick isn’t to ignore the question or fob them off. Kids are smart; they’ll search for the answer elsewhere. The trick is to have that really awkward conversation with them. Honestly. Candidly. And in an age-appropriate way.
So, if, like many carers, parents and teachers, you’ve ever found yourself in this awkward situation and didn’t know what to do, this workshop is for you.
We will demystify some of the myths surrounding sexual education for young humans, find the tools and resources required for those conversations, and hopefully leave feeling better prepared for when those awkward questions creep up.
